The Venue:

Québec City is a culturally vibrant city of approximately half a million inhabitants. It is the capital of the Province of Québec, the only province with French as its sole official language.  Québec derives from the native american word Kébec, which means where the river narrows. The current city is built on the Nionwentsïo traditional territory of the Huron-Wendat nation. The first French settlement in the region dates from 1608. Québec City is a UNESCO World Heritage Site as the only walled city in North America whose fortifications are still intact. Nested on the shore of the majestic St-Lawrence river, it is close to nature, including the St-Charles river, called the Akiawenrahk river in Wendat, that runs through the city. The Québec region has all the advantages and amenities of a big city, set against a spectacular natural backdrop.

How To Get There:

The Québec City Convention Centre is located in the heart of the city. The Convention center is located 10 miles from the International Jean-Lesage Airport, which offers several direct flights to major American and European cities. Québec City is also accessible from the Montréal Airport PE Trudeau airport by train or coach (approx. 3 hour ride). The Convention Centre is within a 10-minute walk from the city center, must-see tourist attractions such as the Plains of Abraham, Old Québec, and the Petit Champlain district, and some of Canada’s finest restaurants. The Convention Centre is also within walking distance of several hotels, many of which are highly affordable, and within a 15-minute public transit ride from the Université Laval Campus where student dorms are offered at a very affordable price. Université Laval is one of the oldest and the first French speaking university in the Americas. It is also one of the largest research institutions in Canada.
